Busted

Today my darling daughter called up her school and pretended to be me. She even gave my ten-digit kennitala [social security number] as absolute proof of her identity [because obviously nobody can remember my ten-digit kennitala but me].

Apparently I [a.k.a. she] told the secretary that she [a.k.a. she] had an urgent need to skip German. However, she obviously needs to brush up on her YT dialect because the secretary told me [a.k.a. her] that this was cool, she'd make a note of it, and then immediately called me [a.k.a. me] to inform me.

Oops.

OKAY THEN!
It started off amiably enough this morning - in fact I went to a meeting downtown around 10 am as the sun was making its first advances in the sky and it was absolutely beautiful. Dusky blue with charcoal clouds that were etched with brilliant rose. One thing you can say about the colours here in Iceland - they are rarely dull [ and often mind-blowingly intense]. Later in the afternoon it turned cold and sheets of rain verging on sleet started coming down on gusts of wind. Not nice. It's still raining but the wind has stopped and current temps are 4°C with the sun rising at 11.16 and setting at 15.50.
