All boycott the Green Light

So, according to Fréttablaðið, old Leonardo DiCaprio is flying into Niceland today and guess where he's headed? Guess!

[tap tap tap...]

That's right! The Snæfellsnes peninsula. Hoping to catch YT no doubt. Not knowing that he's two days too late. Aw. Poor dear.

SPEAKING OF THE MOVIES
Remember how I gushed about the Green Light a few weeks ago? Whell. We are now deeply appalled. This weekend I happened to find out that Green Light screenings are actually more expensive than regular movie screenings. And the reason given by the stupid old theatre owners who are completely incapable of running a proper movie theatre [I have so far restrained myself from ranting in this space about the appalling treatment of the poor defenseless moviegoing public but one day I will, one day I will ...] is that there is no intermission on Green Light screenings so they're not pulling in any dosh on overpriced, dry, excruciatingly salty popcorn. Hence they have to make it up in a higher ticket price.

Have you ever heard anything so absurd? Props to the guy interviewed in Morgunblaðið this weekend, who said that by that logic he should get his ticket at the normal price if he bought something at the snack bar beforehand. But of course that was met with a resounding NO. Props also to EPI's oldest daughter, the wonderful ÁE, who was so appalled at being told that the price was higher that she changed her mind about going and left. I henceforth plan to boycott all Green Light screenings that aren't shown at the special price designated six o'clock movies [Green Light and otherwise], which happens to be my preferred time of going to the cinema anyway.* Boo.

WEATHER
Today was exquisite - calm, sunny, warm, until mid-afternoon. I went for a walk along the seashore to the bank and the bakery and was utterly bowled over by the beauty of the sun hitting the silvery blue ocean and Mt. Esja in the distance, all white and shining on top. The seals were out in droves, basking on top of the skerries just offshore. And when I started cooking dinner this evening, at around 7.30 pm [after my massage and subsequent trip to the pool to soak in the hot pot, mmmm], it was still light outside. Spring is just around the corner. Temps right now 2°C [37°F], sunrise at 08.19 and sunset at 19.00.

* Which is why I had not realized this thing about the price. Before now.
